Eligibility
Full-time employees working 30+ hours per week are eligible to enroll in all benefit offerings. Long-term, part-time employees working 20-30 hours per week are eligible for ancillary benefits, identify theft protection, 401k and ESOP; Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for our 401k plan.
Health Insurance
KTA offers health insurance from Highmark (Blue Cross Blue Shield) with three plans to choose from, which includes a high-deductible option. Employees are eligible the first day of the month following full-time hire. Coverage is available for employee only, employee and child(ren), couple (spouse or domestic partner), and family. KTA pays a defined contribution ranging between 52% and 76% of the premium. The company rewards loyal employees for their length of service with health premium discounts after 5 and 10 years of employment. Open enrollment is offered annually through an online benefits enrollment portal.
Wellness Program
KTA encourages employees and their families to live healthy lifestyles. We offer wellness activities throughout the year such as weight loss programs, fitness programs and challenges, immunization clinics, health assessment rewards and much more. Additional programs are available through our health insurance provider. Employees who participate in our health insurance and the wellness activities are rewarded with token prizes and discounts.
Dental Insurance
Employees are eligible for Delta Dental Insurance the first day of the month following their full-time hire.. Two levels of coverage are available for employees and their families. KTA pays between 60% and 67% of the premium. Employees with 10 or more years of service receive free dental or vision insurance. Open enrollment is offered annually.
Vision Care Insurance
KTA offers Vision Care insurance from VSP on the first of the month following full-time hire. This is a voluntary benefit and 100% employee paid. Employees with 10 or more years of service receive free vision or dental insurance. Open enrollment is offered annually.
Life and Disability Insurances
KTA provides company-paid life, accidental death, and long and short-term disability insurance to all employees on the first of the month following full-time hire. Employees are automatically enrolled in these programs. KTA pays 100% of the total premium for all eligible employees. The value of the life insurance policy is two times your base annual salary.
Supplemental Life Insurance
KTA offers supplemental group life insurance to employees and their families. The employee is responsible for the entire cost of this benefit. The rates for this benefit vary based on age and amount of coverage. New employees are eligible for up to $150,000 of guaranteed issue life insurance, $25,000 for spouses, and $10,000 for eligible children.
Accident Insurance
KTA offers Accident insurance through Reliance Standard to employees and their families. Accident insurance provides benefits for a wide range of covered injuries and accident-related expenses beyond health insurance. These may include emergency room visits, hospitalization, physical therapy, hospital intensive care, transportation, lodging, and more. Open enrollment is offered annually.
Critical Illness Insurance
KTA offers Critical Illness insurance through Reliance Standard to employees and their families. This insurance pays a benefit directly to you if you are diagnosed with a covered condition. These may include heart attack, stroke, or cancer. Open enrollment is offered annually.
Hospital Indemnity Insurance
KTA offers Hospital Indemnity insurance through Reliance Standard to employees and their families. This insurance pays a cash benefit upon hospital admission and for each day you are hospitalized. It is meant to help you cover your deductible and other expenses. Open enrollment is offered annually.
Supplemental Short Term Disability Insurance
KTA offers supplemental Individual Short Term Disability insurance through Reliance Standard to employees. This insurance pays the employee 60% of covered weekly earnings (up to a maximum of $500) should they become ill or injured due to a covered disability. pen enrollment is offered annually. This is an upgrade benefit to our company-paid short-term disability program.
Medical and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
This benefit allows employees to contribute a set amount from their paychecks in order to cover dependent care expenses and/or out-of-pocket medical, dental, and vision expenses such as health insurance and prescription copays. The funds are deducted through regular, equal payroll deductions and money is deposited into a flexible savings/spending account that is exempt from federal, state, and payroll taxes. This money must be used in a defined period of time and for eligible health care expenses only. Open enrollment is offered annually.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
This benefit allows employees enrolled in one of the Qualified High Deductible Health Plans to contribute a set amount from their paychecks in order to cover dependent care expenses and/or out-of-pocket medical, dental, and vision expenses such as health insurance and prescription copays. The funds are deducted through regular, equal payroll deductions and money is deposited into a flexible savings/spending account that is exempt from federal, state, and payroll taxes. Unused money is carried over because it does not have a “use it or lose it” provision. HSA funds may also be invested after the account reaches a $1,500 balance, much like 403(b) funds are invested. Open enrollment is offered annually.
401(k) Investment Program
The company has an established 401(k) profit-sharing program to assist in our employees’ retirement savings with an option to make pre-tax contributions (traditional) or after-tax contributions (Roth). Employees will be automatically enrolled in the program on the first pay of the new quarter (on or about 1/1, 4/1,7/1, 10/1). Employees can invest up to the annually determined federal limit (with catch-up contributions for age 50+) of their base pay into the program each year. KTA matches 50% of the contribution up to 3% and encourages all employees to invest at least 6% to receive the full 3% match. A wide portfolio of investment options are made available through our plan advisor, Newport Group.
Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP)
KTA is 100% Employee Owned! The ESOP is a qualified retirement program. All employees who work 1,000 hours or more each year, have worked a full calendar year and are active on December 31st of each year will be automatically enrolled in the program. Allocations are made annually based on eligibility and base salary. Employee ownership is the best benefit KTA has ever been able to offer its employees. Our employees are given the opportunity to share in the ownership of a fantastic, growing, and successful company!
Paid Time Off (PTO)
The company provides an accrual system for paid time off (vacation, sick, and personal time combined). New full-time employees are eligible for up to 12 PTO days in your first year. After the first calendar year, you are eligible for up to 16 PTO days. The benefit increases to 16 days after one full calendar year and then again every few years until it maximizes at 26 days after 15 calendar years of full employment.
Holidays
Full-time employees are eligible for time off, with pay, on the following scheduled holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday following Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Years of Service & Employee Recognition
KTA rewards long-term service by increasing health insurance benefits after 5 and 10 years, offering free dental or vision premiums after 10 years, and presenting awards at various service milestones. The Employee Recognition Committee regularly reviews nominations for exceptional performance, granting awards, monthly $100 drawings, and annual grand prizes, all highlighted in The KTA Insider. Additionally, High-5 awards recognize smaller acts of excellence, and the Employee of the Quarter program honors an outstanding employee with a prime parking spot and a feature in The KTA Insider.
Employee Assistance Program
KTA’s EAP is a confidential, worksite-based program designed to assist both employees and employers to provide assessment and referral for personal and professional problems. The programs offered include counseling and education for a variety of issues including, but not limited to, marital and family issues, stress, crisis, alcohol and drug problems, smoking cessation, childcare need options, eldercare referrals, financial planning, money management, and pet care referrals.
Pet Insurance
KTA offers a discount on pet insurance premiums for accident and illness, or accident-only, and well visit savings through Embrace.
Tuition Reimbursement, Training and Development
KTA invests in its employees. The company offers tuition reimbursement (75% of the cost, up to $5,200 annually) for all full-time employees after completion of 12 months of service. In addition to annual refresher training, KTA pays for industry certification renewals and training and development of all eligible staff. In addition, employees have access to an on-demand Learning Management System (LMS). Policy restrictions apply.
