Drone Coating Inspection and Assessment

Are you looking for Drone Inspection or Assessment of Coatings?

KTA-Tator has a long history of innovation and the use of Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV) to supplement field inspections and assessments is no different.  KTA has worked very closely with a number of select clients to provide visual inspections with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) or better known as drones.  We have provided visual assessments of structures that are inhospitable or inaccessible to typical inspection techniques.  Areas such as water tanks, bridges, nuclear facilities, pipelines can be evaluated using hi-definition photogrammetry and remote sensing.  Typically, the equipment we employ utilizes GPS and LIDAR to ensure consistent positioning.

Industries That KTA’s Drones Benefit:

Water Tanks
Bridges
Nuclear Plants
Pipelines
Marine
Communication & Transmission Towers
Buildings & Structures
Wind Turbines
Power Generation – Chimneys/Stacks
Roof Inspections/Building Envelope
Chemical Facilities

Underwater Drones (ROV):

KTA’s experience assessing and inspecting underwater structures, dates to our earliest years, when our divers performed these difficult inspections.  Today our inspectors are supplemented with state-of-the-art equipment such as our remote operated vehicles (ROV’s), which provide real time, high definition photography and videography.  When utilized in potable water applications, these ROV’s can provide detailed condition assessments of the coating systems as well as the thickness of the tank shell.  These assessments and inspection can be completed safer, quicker and more cost effectively than human divers.

KTA Underwater Drone Inspection Services Include:

Piloting ROV
Data Capture and Positioning
Hi-definition Photography and Video
Real Time Corrosion Assessment Information
Tank Shell Thickness Evaluation

The Advantages of Underwater Drones (ROV) Include:

Reduced Risk –less exposure of personnel to dangerous environments
Cost Reduction – avoid unnecessary inspections just to “check an area out”
Record Keeping – Utilization of point clouds can monitor corrosion as a function of time and the ability to document and measure corrosion in specific areas is easily accomplished.
Time Savings – fast turnaround from putting ROV into water to start collecting data.
Safety – No chemicals from wetsuits or clothing entering water supply.

Aerial Drones (UAV):

KTA has the ability to provide coating and condition assessments and inspections utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles.  KTA understands the logistical challenges of performing proper inspections when access to the area is difficult. Our team can provide analysis of your infrastructure and based upon the results of the UAV inspection/assessments; we provide remedial action as necessary.  Our team of experts incorporates licensed drone operators, NACE Level III coating inspectors, professional engineers and non-destructive testing professionals.

KTA Aerial Drones (UAV) Services Include:

Piloting drones
Data Capture
Hi-definition Photography and Videography
Real Time Corrosion Assessment Information
Tank Shell Thickness Evaluation
FAA Licensed Staff
